Bridal Boudoir in Richmond, VA | Hannah Louise Photo
I will always root for you to choose yourself FIRST. There’s something really special about it.
This bridal boudoir session here in Richmond, VA wasn’t about creating a gift for her fiancé—it was about showing up for herself. We planned this session on her birthday, which already felt meaningful. A new year, a fresh start, and a bold decision to see her body differently than she had before.
A Different Kind of Bridal Boudoir
When people hear “bridal boudoir,” it’s usually framed as something you do for your partner.
But that’s not true over here!
We celebrate real bodies and she came into this session wanting exactly that. Honesty. Comfort. Ease. No uncomfortable poses. A moment for her to exist.
We shot on both digital and 35mm film, which gave the session this really beautiful balance. Film always slows things down in the best way—it lets you feel what’s happening instead of rushing through it.
Getting Ready
She had her makeup done by Haley Rose Beauty (you can check her out here: https://www.haleyrosebeauty.com/), and everything about the morning felt calm and intentional.
This Was Never About Perfection
I want to be really clear about something—this kind of session isn’t about hitting a certain weight, size, or version of “confidence” before you book.
Body inclusivity isn’t a buzzword in my business. It’s something I’ve built my work around for years.
I specialized in boudoir for a reason — because we don’t give ourselves enough love. For over five years I photographed more than 300 women. Every single one comes in with a different story, different insecurities, different expectations. And every single one deserves to be seen exactly as they are.
You don’t need to change anything about your body to do this.
What She Shared After
After she received her photos, she sent me this:
“I went into this shoot feeling so insecure and scared of my body. i left feeling so seen. looking at these photos is so healing”
That’s the part that stays with me. It doesn’t take much to give yourself a bit of much deserved love.
Why This Matters
Boudoir—especially bridal boudoir—can be so much more than a gift.
It can be a way to:
reconnect with yourself
see your body with kinder eyes
mark a moment in your life that feels important
And yes, you can absolutely share these photos with your partner. But they don’t have to be created for them.
This session was hers first. Everything else came second.
If you’re thinking about a bridal boudoir session in Richmond, VA and want something that feels a little less traditional, a little more you…I’m SOOOO here for that.
I would be honored to create a space for you that feels honest and comforting.
