I was so stoked when Alexis reached out to me about golden hour portraits! Alexis is a past boudoir client of mine, and I loved shooting with her so I knew it was going to be a fantastic session.
When I asked her what prompted her to reach out for a portrait session so soon after their wedding, she told me that they had a freaking TORNADO at their wedding!! UMMM no thank you! As a Virginia elopement photographer, this is literally what we have stress dreams about.
But these two handled it SO well, and rolled with the punches. They didn’t have a chance to get any of those dreamy golden hour portraits on their actual big day. (Duh, tornado). So, we made up for it by scheduling this session on a PERFECT Summer evening.
Portraits on your wedding day can be super rushed & stressful anyways.. So for this shoot, Alexis and Lars got to enjoy already being newlyweds…throw back some beers with some family…laugh and dance by the water…and just enjoy a slow evening in the golden sunset as a new married couple. Gotta say, I loved the vibe. And they truly made ME feel a part of the family. So grateful.
And can we have a second for how much the sun was showing off for these golden hour portraits!? It made up for every bit of the freaking tornado, and brought the most glowy, dreamy hues to their session. Alexis was a stunning bride (obsessed with her gown, and her in general) and the evening glow just accentuated how freaking beautiful she is. Drop dead gorgeous.
Alexis and Lars, thank you for choosing me for your post-tornado golden hour portrait session. You two are literally the best and I had a great time shooting with you!!
