When Rachel & Billy reached out to me to photograph their Farmhouse Wedding at Amber Grove, I was so excited. It’s such a beautiful venue and they are the sweetest couple ever! You can tell from the photos how much these two love each other, and how much thought & intention went into their big day.
As a Virginia wedding photographer, I love seeing all the details the couple have created to share with their guests. And Rachel & Billy were no exception. From the beautiful pink details throughout the day, to the vinyl record they asked their guests to sign…everything was unique to THEM. And I loved it!!
Rachel and Billy got ready separately with their respective wedding parties. They chose not to do a first look, but instead do a “first touch” where they held hands around a garden gate and read handwritten letters to each other.
Rachel decided she wanted to do a special first look with her father before the ceremony though. His face when he turned around to see his daughter as a bride was PRICELESS. I will never get tired of capturing these real, unfiltered moments.
They were married in a barn style ceremony with lights twinkle overhead, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Rachel’s bridesmaids wore mismatched pink dresses while the groomsmen wore suspenders and white button downs. Rachel looked STUNNING in her long lace gown with the open back. Literally encapsulating bride vibes!
The newlyweds were beaming. We used the tree swing at Amber Grove for some fun pictures, and shot against the classic farmhouse white fence before wrapping up their couples photos on the front porch.
After taking those few private moments as newly husband and wife, the two danced their way into their reception! Their whole party was just FUN and they danced the night away with their friends and family. I loved their reception details from the handprinted cake to the vinyl record guestbook.
It was the perfect farmhouse wedding at Amber Grove, and I am so honored to be Billy & Rachel’s wedding photographer!
